Our April Community Spotlight will highlight The Woman’s Club of Morristown, which has supported our agency’s mission since 2009. Without our community’s support, our mission would not be possible!
The Woman’s Club of Morristown is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote the improvement of the community, civic, and cultural activities through the united action of its members, who are dedicated to serving their community.
Over the years, its members have provided thousands of volunteer hours and raised thousands of dollars for charities and not-for-profit organizations throughout the Morristown area and beyond.
The Club first became involved with Family Promise when it was chosen as the Special State Project by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs. The Morristown Club arranged for Karen Olsen, the founder of Family Promise National, to speak at a General Meeting. This inspired several members to volunteer with their local affiliate, Family Promise of Morris County!
For four years (three days per year) a group of members volunteered for our Shelter Program at St. Vincent’s Church in Madison. There, they prepared and served an evening meal, visited and stayed overnight, and made sure our guests felt welcomed.
More recently, Club members helped furnish twelve newly renovated apartments housing single women who formerly faced homelessness. The Club looks forward to continuing their support in the near future, such as supplying new bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies for future guest move ins!
We are so grateful for The Woman’s Club of Morristown’s support of not only our agency, but a variety of other organizations in our community! To learn more about the Club, visit https://wcomt.org/.
