Community Spotlight: Redeemer Lutheran Church

Our first Community Spotlight of the year will highlight one of our long-lasting community partners, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna, NJ.

Family Promise of Morris County’s support system is very much rooted in our faith-based community partners, without whom we wouldn’t be able to do all that we do.

Throughout our over three decades in service, 75 Morris County congregations and houses of worship have provided shelter space, overnight staffing, and meals through our Emergency Shelter Program.

Although we have shifted to a Motel Shelter model due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our amazing congregations have still found ways to support our guests in their time of need.

Redeemer Lutheran Church is just one of our many Host Congregations that have made vital changes to continue serving our guests during these pandemic times.

For almost two decades, Redeemer has supported Family Promise of Morris County, not only through our Emergency Shelter Program, but also by donating essential items and goods for our guests. Over the years, donation items have included diapers, formula, and even grocery store gift cards.

The warmth, generosity, and kindness of the Redeemer volunteers is what stands out most for many of our Shelter graduate families. They have welcomed and cared for individuals and families in their time of need, and for that we are so grateful.

Thank you, Redeemer Lutheran Church, for your outstanding support!
